European broker with a remunerated cash account versus net worth tracking. Last reviewed 14 September 2026.
Trade Republic did for mobile broking in Europe roughly what neobanks did for the current account: cut the cost and remove the friction. Buying an ETF or scheduling a recurring contribution takes seconds, and cash remuneration means idle money does not have to move elsewhere.
But a portfolio is not a net worth. The Trade Republic screen tells you what you hold there and how much it moved. It does not know about the salary account with €12,000 in it, the €140,000 mortgage or what the flat is worth. In a falling market you can be deep in red at the broker while your total wealth grows, simply because you are paying down debt.
eXcenda exists for that second layer: adding the broker portfolio to everything else you own, subtracting what you owe, and showing the trajectory of the figure that actually matters, with macro context to read the moves.
| Feature | eXcenda | Trade Republic |
|---|---|---|

| Cash at other banks | Included | Not visible |
| Mortgage and loans | Subtracted from the total | Out of scope |
| Property and belongings | Included with your own valuation | Not applicable |
| Trading | No, it is not a broker | Yes, that is its function |
| Macro context | Proprietary Macro Stress Index | Instrument-level market data |
| Used together | Consolidates the Trade Republic portfolio | Executes the trades |
Trade Republic is where you buy; eXcenda is where you see what the purchase means inside the whole. They are complementary, and the most common setup is to have both.
eXcenda is designed to work without credentials: you record your portfolio valuation and update it as often as you want, so the figure feeds your net worth without granting access to the broker.
Because they measure different things. Net worth includes cash, property and debt. You can have a bad month in the market and still grow if you have paid down a mortgage or saved.
If your entire financial life fits inside the broker, no. As soon as there is an account at another bank, a mortgage or a property, the broker's figure stops answering the question of how much you have.
